Introduction

Windows Mail is a free and easy to use email client developed by Microsoft. Microsoft Mail comes pre-installed on all copies of Windows 8/10 & 11.

  1. Click the menu icon in the top left corner.
  2. Click "Accounts" to view the currently configured accounts. This will open on the right side of the App.
  3. Click "Add Account".
  4. There will now be a list of popular account types. Select "Advanced Setup" from the bottom of the list.
  5. Select "Internet Email" from the Advanced Setup page.
  6. We now need to tell Windows Mail the details of the account we are trying to add. Ensure the form is completed as per the below:
    • Email Address - Please enter the email address that you are trying to add.
    • Username - Simply duplicate your email address into this field.
    • Password - Enter the account password.
    • Account Name - Enter the name you wish for the account to be shown inside Windows Mail.
    • Send your messages using this name - This is the name the email reciepient will see in their Mail Client.
    • Incoming Email Server - Ensure your Branch website address "branch.camra.org.uk" is entered.
    • Account Type - Please select "IMAP4".
    • Outgoing (SMTP) Email Server - Ensure your Branch website address "branch.camra.org.uk" is entered.
    • Ensure all tickboxes below remain ticked
  7. Click "Sign In" when you are finished. The settings page will now close and you will be presented with a confirmation page. Click "Done" to return to your account.
