Guides for implementing CAMRA Email services on popular Email Clients.

Introduction

Thunderbird is a free and open source email client developed by Mozilla, the same developers as the popular Browser, Mozilla FireFox. Mozilla Thunderbird has been around for a number of years, and has been growing in popularity with its simple, yet effective design.

It is available on both Windows & Mac, but this particular guide covers off how to add a Mailbox to Thunderbird on Windows. The latest version of Thunderbird is preferred to match with the instructions.

  1. Click the menu icon in the top right corner and then click "New".
  2. Now click "Existing Mail Account"
  3. Thunderbird will attempt to lookup the account details automatically based on the following:
    • Your Name - Enter Your Name.
    • Email Address - Enter the email address of the account you are looking to add.
    • Password - Enter the password for the given account.
  4. Thunderbird will auto-discover the details of the account automatically. Once the details have been identified, Thunderbird will show the settings on screen. We can now click "Done" to exit the setup process.
  5. Once the account has been successfully created, Thunderbird will advise. Now click "Finish". Once we click Finish, we will be taken back to the Inbox.
  6. If you encounter any issues with the above, please drop us a line via our 'Contact Us' page and include any screenshots that may help us identify the issue.
