Introduction

Outlook is a popular Email program provided as part of the Microsoft Office suite of programs. Over the years, Outlook has changed its design and the process for adding accounts has been simplified with much of the process now being automated. Unfortunately, automatic account discovery is something that the Plesk server does not allow, so users are still required to enter these details manually to allow for a trouble free setup.

This guide in particular covers off how to add a Plesk Mailbox to Outlook on MacOS. The latest Outlook 365/2019 is preferred to match with the instructions.

There are two different types of settings available, and this depends on how your Branch website is hosted.

  1. Once inside Outlook on Mac, click Tools > Accounts in the top ribbon.
  2. Click "Add Email Account"
  3. Enter the email address that you wish to Add, and click "Continue".
  4. On the next screen, click the IMAP/POP icon on the bottom row.
  5. Click to show Plesk settings

    We now need to tell Outlook the details of the account you are trying to add. Ensure the form is completed as per the below:

    • Select "IMAP" from the dropdown list at the top.
    • Email Address - Enter the email address of the account you are configuring
    • Username - Enter the email address of the account you are configuring as the 'username'.
    • Password - Enter the account password.
    • Incoming Server - Please enter your Branch Domain, such as branch.camra.org.uk is entered. Port '993' should also be set.
    • Outgoing Server - Please enter your Branch Domain, such as branch.camra.org.uk is entered. Port '587' should also be set.
    • Click 'Add Account' to continue

    We now need to tell Outlook the details of the account you are trying to add. Ensure the form is completed as per the below:

    • Select "IMAP" from the dropdown list at the top.
    • Email Address - Enter the email address of the account you are configuring
    • Username - Enter the email address of the account you are configuring as the 'username'.
    • Password - Enter the account password.
    • Incoming Server - Please ensure "beerenginemail.camra.org.uk" is entered. Port '993' should also be set.
    • Outgoing Server - Please ensure "beerenginemail.camra.org.uk" is entered. Port '587' should also be set.
    • Click 'Add Account' to continue

  6. Click 'Done' to continue.
  7. Once you have clicked 'Done', Outlook will present you with the final settings. We now need to make one more change before the account will work as expected. If everything in order this far, Outlook will show you account in the left panel with a 'Green' icon next to your email address.
  8. Simply click "Advanced".
  9. Enter 'INBOX' into IMAP Root Folder. Ensure that 'INBOX' is entered in captitals.
  10. Click "OK" to finish. You can now close the remaining screens and head back to your Inbox.
